What: 2017 Orange Bowl International Tennis Championship

Where: Plantation Central Park’s Veltri Tennis Center

Who: The world’s top junior boys and girls competing in the 16s and 18s singles and doubles draws of a Level 1, Grade A tournament. On the line are ranking points, college scholarships and sponsor deals.

When: Monday through Sunday, starting at 8 a.m. daily (subject to change)

Players to watch: The highlight on the girls’ side is the No. 1 junior player in the world, Bradenton’s Whitney Osuigwe, who won the French Open junior title in June. Including Osuigwe, four of the top five seeds are Americans: Elysia Bolton (23rd in junior rankings), Caty McNally (26th) and Ellie Douglas (29th). Locals Hurricane Tyra Black (Boca Raton) and Cori Gauff (Delray Beach) will also be competing.

For the boys, Timofey Skatov, of Russia, is the top seed. He’s the eighth-ranked junior player in the world. The top-seeded Americans are Andrew Fenty (No. 3 seed, No. 33 in world junior rankings) and Boca Raton’s Alexandre Rotsaert (No. 6, No. 39).

Directions to Veltri Tennis Center: From I-95 or Florida Turnpike, take I-595 west to Pine Island Road, north to Broward Boulevard, west to Central Park Road, turn right and first right into park; tennis center in rear.
