Maintenance building, 75 golf carts destroyed in Suffolk fire at Sleepy Hole Golf Course – Virginian-Pilot


A maintenance building and 75 golf carts inside it were destroyed by fire at Sleepy Hole Golf Course on Wednesday evening.

City spokeswoman Diana Klink said dispatchers were notified at 7:50 p.m. of the fire in the 4700 block of Sleepy Hole Road. Battalion Chief Tommy Thomasson said firefighters found the building burning upon arrival.

City firefighters, with the assistance of crews from Carrollton and Isle of Wight, brought the fire under control by 8:40 p.m., Klink said.

No one was injured.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
