PPC holds golf day – DailyNews

HARARE – At least 100 golfers took the greens on Friday to battle for honours in the inaugural PPC Golf Day which became the latest corporate golf day to be added to Harare’s annual corporate golfing calendar.

The field was drawn from PPC’s customers, suppliers and business partners with prizes handed to the top six pairings.

While there was no hole in one nor an eagle recorded on a day in which golfers struggled to hit the fairways they were thrills in longest drives and nearest to the pin shots which all came with prizes.

PPC managing director Kelibone Masiyane paid tribute to the company’s customers and partners.

He attributed the company’s strong business performance in 2017 to the support of quality conscious customers.

Masiyane expressed his commitment to cementing the ties between PPC and its partners especially through events like golf days.

PPC whose aggregated plant’s capacity totals 700 000 tonnes has led the Zimbabwean cement industry from 1930 and is an integral part of the country’s most architecturally significant structures, including Kariba Dam, the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe building and Harare International Airport.

PPC recently commissioned its new Harare plant constructed at a cost of $82 million.

The Harare plant doubled total production for PPC Zimbabwe.

Other plants providing finished cement and critical inputs like clinker are located in Bulawayo and Collen Bawn near Gwanda.
