You put your right hand in, you put your right hand out … Camp Villages had its Grandparent and Grandchild Winter Wonderland Dance Friday night, and saw everyone in the family dancing along to the Hokey Pokey, “Thriller”, and “Uptown Funk.” Canal Street Recreation Center dimmed the lights on the dance floor to set the mood, and soon kids were spinning with their grandparents, celebrating their time together. The dance was the first Camp Villages event for this year, and the program plans to return once a month with fun activities. Recreation Supervisor for Chatham Recreation Center Julie Macleod was very pleased with how the evening went. “Everyone’s participating, up and dancing out of their chairs.” “It’s so fun to watch the kids lead their grandparents in the dances,” Macleod said. “Or to see the grandparents teach the kids some dances they don’t know,” Macleod said as a grandma taught her young granddaughter the steps to the Electric Slide.
